2018 Row by Row: Sew Musical

We are pleased to be participating in the 2018 Row by Row experience. Our row is inspired by the rich flamenco culture in town.

Albuquerque is home to the National Institute of Flamenco Dancing, and as a result we have a vibrant and dedicated community of Flamenco dancers in town. Flamenco is known for its emotional intensity, proud carriage, expressive use of the arms, fan work and rhythmic stamping of the feet which results in a mysterious and seductive preformance. Traditionally, audience members and other dancers will shout "JALE" (which roughly translates to "work-it") and other vocal encouragements to the dancers.

Our row features ruffled skirts, a 3-d fan and ribbon flowers which helps capture the magic of this musical and visual art form.

Roy by Row Starts on June 21st. FREE patterns will be available to all who visit the sore, and kits will be available for purchase.
