241 Tote Bag Class

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner- Achievable for beginners who are willing to learn a new skill. Has sewn a few projects, comfortable working with a sewing machine. Must be 18+ to attend this class.

This versatile 241 Tote is designed for both style and functionality, perfect for everyday use. It is a fabric lover’s favorite! Please have your materials and cut your fabricbefore class so we can start right away!
The tote features:
•    Exterior side pockets
•    An interior slip pocket
•    Optional zippered exterior slash pockets
•    A magnetic snap closure
It showcases a mix of fabric patterns. The finished dimensions provide ample space for all your needs. The bag measures 13 ½ X 12 X 2 ½ (24” tall including the handle). 

 

Please have fabric cut before class. Thank you!
When cutting the interfacing cut it 1/8”- ¼” smaller than your fabric pieces.
Please follow the layout instructions for the pattern pieces as shown.
Extra pieces that need to be cut are listed on the pattern sheet.
I used strapping for the handle. After putting it in I would suggest using the fabric option as stated in the pattern. The strapping ended up being to stiff for the floppy bag.
 

Supplies

241 tote bag pattern 

Exterior fabric – ½ yard
Lining fabric – ½ yard
Accent fabric – ½ yard
Strap, pockets – ½ yard
14 mm magnetic snap (optional)
2 – 5” or larger zippers
Fusible woven interfacing (Pellon SF101) – 1 ½ yards
Recommended fabrics: home dec, heavy linen, denim, canvas or twill for the exterior. Quilting cotton for the lining. 
Other supplies: sewing machine in good working condition, 90/14 needle, thread, marking pens, pins and clips, scissors, rotary cutter and other basic sewing supplies. 

 

CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICY:

Classes fill up quickly so it is essential to PRE-REGISTER.  If a cancellation is received at least SEVEN DAYS before the first day of class, a refund will be issued for the amount minus a 20% administration fee.  Cancellations received fewer than SEVEN DAYS in advance will not be refunded for any reason, including illness. If a class is canceled by Stitchology, you will receive a full refund.  If you do not show up for class, or are more than 15 minutes late for any reason, including illness, you will not be refunded or credited any part of the fee.

 

Some classes do require you to come to class with your project precut or that you work on "homework" between class sessions. We use the most size inclusive patterns we can. It is your responsibility to ensure the pattern will fit. If you do not fall within the size parameters for the pattern you will need to make arrangements with us to have your pattern altered before the day of class. Please understand, if you are not prepared we cannot guarantee you will be able to attend/or finish the class.  If the teacher is unable to accommodate you, you will not be refunded the class fee. If you are allowed to attend class, you will not receive any additional instruction time.  If you need help prepping for the class or finishing you may arrange for help prior to or after the class for an additional fee.
